Things to Remember when joining Walking Tours in Singapore

When you visit Singapore, you must be aware that there are a lot of things to do in the small country. Also, there are a lot of places to go to like Universal Studios, Singapore Flyer, Marina Bay Sands and Singapore Zoo. One way to experience the culture there would be to join a walking tour. Lots of tourists join them because you get to meet other tourists and explore the city at the same time. I had a great time when I joined the tours but there are a few things to remember including:

Do the Chinatown Tour
One of the best places to explore in Singapore is Chinatown. Hence, I would highly recommend joining the Chinatown walking tour in Singapore. Words can’t describe the quality of the food you will try. Yes, Singapore is known for yummy food and you will get to try most of that in Chinatown. In addition, you get to experience Chinese culture. My personal favorites would have to be the steamed shrimp dumpling and the fried wanton dumpling.

Check the Weather
If the weather is bad, you can expect most of the Singapore walking tours to get cancelled. There’s no point walking by the streets when it is raining hard outside. When that happens, there’s no chance you’ll enjoy the tours. Hence, it would be best to check the weather in advance. Good thing, the latest mobile phones often indicate the weather for the next few days.

Arrive Early
Some would think it is best to arrive on time but it is better to arrive earlier than the call time. When I did that, I was able to make friends with the other tourists and ask the tour guide a lot of questions. Yes, I was able to learn a lot from the tour guide just by arriving early to the meeting place. Also, there’s a chance it may be traffic so if you aim to arrive early, you’ll avoid getting late. The last thing you’d want to happen is to have them waiting for you.

Bring Extra Camera Battery
There’s no doubt you’ll bring your camera for the tours. However, there’s a possibility you’ll run out of battery. Therefore, it would be a great idea to bring extra battery if the battery of your camera is portable. If it is not, you must bring the charger. It would not feel good to not have a camera to use when the best parts of the tour are still to come.

Bring Extra Cash
Some walking tours are actually free of charge. However, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t bring any cash with you. Besides, you’ll most likely be heading to restaurants and souvenir shops. Since it is a walking tour, you’ll be very hungry for lunch and dinner. Also, you’d want something to remember the tour by so it is best to bring extra money. You can’t rely on withdrawing money from the nearest ATM because there may be a long line for it.
